Clubhouse Collector

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

Clubhouse Collector is a free golf course tracking tool, on this website and as an iPhone app. This page explains what information is collected when you use either one, how it's used, and the choices you have. Questions? Email [email protected].

1. What we collect

If you don't sign in. The courses you mark as played and any road trip you build are saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. We don't receive them.

Age check. Before you create an account, we ask for your birth month and year to confirm you are 13 or older. We don't save your date of birth; your browser or device only remembers whether the check was passed.

If you sign in with Google. Google Sign-In (through Google Firebase) gives us your name, email address, profile photo and a unique account ID. We store your list of played courses in our database (Google Firestore) so it syncs across your devices. Earlier versions of the site also let people log scores; any scores saved that way are kept until deleted on request, and that feature has been removed.

Reports you send. If you use the "Report a problem" form, we receive what you type, your email address if you choose to give one, and your browser type. The form is handled by our hosting provider, Netlify, and we use it only to look into your report and, if you asked, reply.

Sharing your progress. The "Share" picture and text are created in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to us unless you choose to send it somewhere yourself.

Your location. If you tap the "nearest unplayed course" button, your browser asks for permission to use your location. It is used only inside your browser to work out distances. It isn't sent to or stored by us.

Automatic technical data. As with any website, our hosting provider and the third parties listed below receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested.

Website analytics. The website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and features are used, so we can improve the site. It records things like the pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser, and your approximate location (city or region, worked out from your IP address). It does not receive your played courses, your email address or anything you type into the site. The iPhone app does not use analytics.

What else we save when you sign in. Besides your played courses, we save your want-to-play list, the dates and favorites you add to courses, your saved road trips, and (if Pro is offered and you unlock it) your license key. They are stored in our database (Google Firestore) so they sync across your devices, and are visible only to you.

Optional public passport page. If you choose to turn this on (in Account & sharing), we publish a page at clubhousecollector.com/u/ followed by your handle, which anyone who has the link can open. It shows your handle, an optional display name that you type, how many courses you have played in total and in each state, how many achievements and collection items you have, and, only if you tick the box, up to eight favorite courses. It never shows your email address, your Google name or photo, your dates, or your full list of courses. You can update or remove the page at any time, and removing it deletes it. These pages are left out of our sitemap and marked so that search engines should not index them, but anyone with the link can see one, so only publish what you are comfortable sharing.

Pro licenses (only if Pro is offered). When you enter a license key, your browser sends the key to the payment and license provider (Lemon Squeezy or Gumroad) to check that it is valid. They receive the key and your IP address. Payments are handled by the provider; we do not receive your card details.

Downloads and backups. The CSV and backup files are created in your browser from your own data. Nothing is uploaded.

The iPhone app. The Clubhouse Collector iPhone app works without an account. Everything you log in it (played courses, your want-to-play list, dates, favorites, road trips and your yearly goal) is saved on your iPhone, with a second copy in the app's own storage on the device so it survives if iOS clears space. It is not sent to us. If you allow it, the app uses your location only when you ask for the nearest courses, and only on your iPhone. The app shows no ads and has no analytics or tracking. To draw the map it loads map tiles from MapTiler (street map) and Esri (satellite view), which receive your IP address and the area being shown. Share pictures, CSV exports and backups are created on your iPhone and go only where you send them. Requests to rate the app use Apple's built-in prompt. You can delete everything the app has saved with “Erase everything on this iPhone” in the Me tab, or by deleting the app. If the app offers sign-in in the future (Sign in with Apple or Google, to sync your collection), it works like signing in on this website, described above.

2. Cookies and local storage

3. Advertising

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Affiliate links. Some links on our pages, marked “ad” or described as sponsored, are affiliate links to tee-time, travel or gear sellers. If you book or buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. When you follow such a link, that company receives your IP address and the page you came from, and its own privacy policy applies. We do not give these companies your account details or your list of played courses.

4. Third-party services

To run the site we rely on these services. Loading content from them means they receive your IP address and basic browser information.

If Pro is offered: Lemon Squeezy or Gumroad (purchases and license checks). When you follow an affiliate link: the company you are sent to.

5. How we use information, and who we share it with

We use information to run the site, sync your collection, show ads that keep the site free, keep it secure, and answer your emails. We do not sell your personal information in exchange for money. Google’s advertising cookies may count as “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some state privacy laws; you can opt out with the “Privacy choices” link, where it is shown, or in Google Ad Settings (see Advertising above). We share it only with the service providers above, and when required by law.

6. Keeping and deleting your data

Account data stays until you ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] from the address you signed in with and we'll delete your record. Data kept only in your browser can be removed by clearing the site's data in your browser settings. Signing out stops further syncing.

You can remove your public passport page yourself at any time in Account & sharing, and we will remove it too if you ask us to delete your account.

7. Your rights

EEA, UK and Switzerland. You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your personal data, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time, and you can complain to your local data protection authority. We rely on your consent for advertising cookies and on providing the service you asked for (and our legitimate interest in running it) for account sync.

US residents (for example California). Depending on your state you may have the right to know what we collect, and to request deletion or correction. We don't sell personal information. To limit ad personalization, use the Google Ad Settings or "Privacy choices" options described above. Email us to make a request and we won't treat you differently for doing so.

8. Children

Clubhouse Collector isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

9. Security and international processing

We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service is perfectly secure. Our providers, such as Google and Netlify, may process data in the United States and other countries.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
