Open data
The Clubhouse Collector course list (15,665 golf courses in 50 states and Washington, D.C.) is open data under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. You can copy it, use it and adapt it, including for commercial projects, as long as you follow three rules.
The three rules, in plain English
- Credit us and OpenStreetMap. Use the credit line below wherever you show the data.
- Share alike. If you publicly use a database you build from this one, offer your database under the ODbL too.
- Keep it open. Don’t add technical restrictions that stop others from using the data.
This is a summary, not legal advice. The license text is what counts.

Where it comes from, and what we changed
- We started from OpenGolfAPI (version 1.0.0), which is built from OpenStreetMap data.
- We added courses we researched by hand, and more courses from OpenStreetMap exports.
- We removed entries outside the United States, duplicates, and places that aren’t golf courses (driving ranges, academies, putting greens and similar).
- We corrected wrong states and locations, blanked hole counts we couldn’t trust, assigned permanent IDs, and added notes and ratings for some courses.
- We set each course’s type (public, semi-private or private) from what the sources said. Where they said nothing, we made a best guess for some courses.
Please note
- Coverage is uneven: some states have far more of their real courses listed than others.
- Details can be wrong or out of date. Confirm with a course before you visit.
- Map tiles, satellite imagery and the state and metro-area outlines used on the site are not part of this dataset and have their own licenses (see the credits).
